So first and foremost, players must acknowledge that this is just a game. If we were to get super-realistic about stuff, we'd be here reinventing the wheel for the next fifty thousand years. So just to make things easier, we have adhered to conventional standards that we all ready understand and acknowledge, such as:
Units of time and measurement
While there are numerous Cybertronian definitions of units of time -- the breem, the vorn, the nanoclicks, whatever -- it's hard to keep track of just what's what. So just to keep things simple, we plan on just sticking to the usual conventions -- seconds, hours, days, months, years; inches, feet, meters, yards, miles, kilometers. Just pick whatever and stick with it.
Time on Panguul will, for sake of simplicity, work on Earth time; 24 hours a day, 30 days a month, 12 months a year, etc.
The distances between stars will also stay the same; light years, parsecs, etc.
I hope that clears up any potential confusion about time and reckoning.
Glossary
Those familiar with Transformers canon or fanfic will realize that some writers will tend to use set terms for different things. Some writers will use 'optics' in place of eyes, some robots breathe, others vent, and some people have made up all kinds of alternative words to describe various physical or facial features, just to differentiate robots from humans. However, it is important to note that Transformers as a genre is largely an anthropomorphization of robots AS humans; I mean, they look human, after all; head, arms, legs, speech, faces, eyeballs. So in the spirit of fun, use any terms you prefer! Otherwise, here is a list of common terms.
Mech, mechs -- man, men; a male Transformer.
Femme, femmes -- woman, women; a female Transformer.
Optics -- eyes. Can also come in optic band, optic visor.
Energon -- fuel, food, drink. Transformer types eat, drink, and consume this peculiarly toxic resource to stay running. In this universe, TFs can probably consume other types of fuel -- fossil fuels, replacement fuels, deuterium -- but none of these has the full effect of real, pure energon.
Engex -- energon beer, booze. Different from 'food' energon in that overdosing results in intoxication, ie. drunk.
Heel thrusters -- Most fliers tend to come with thrusters set in their heels, like Seekers. This enables them to fly in robot mode. In this universe, no one hovers in one spot without a good reason. Also, because it looks totally silly unless you're a VTOL vehicle, such as a hovercraft.
Wings, doors, tyres, fins -- Expressive elements for a TF. These common kibble projections can twitch and flicker and fold back or droop or perk up as an extension of their body, like a dog wagging its tail, or a cat flattening its ears.
Spark -- The physical manifestation of a TF soul. TFs are one of the few rare species who can prove they have souls. Sort of.
Spark chamber, spark core -- tThe spherical, heavily-armoured core that contains the spark. Usually this thing withstands complete damage to the body, enabling a TF to be brought back to life, as it were. But occasionally the spark fails without life support, or sometimes it just dies from shock.
Fuel pump, main pump -- Not all TFs are built the same, but most acknowledge that they have a fuel pump that regulates energon circulation in their bodies. Also referred to as the heart. Also, the pump is not always a physical pump; sometimes it's just a fan inside a little fluid-filled box. Not exactly rocket science.
Vocalizer, voice box -- self-explanatory.
Fans, vents -- respiratory outlets.
Fuel tank -- stomach, where fuel is stored.
Aft -- meaning posterior. You know, the butt.
Skid plate -- butt.
Plate, plating -- exterior hull, external hull, skin.
Primary processor, processor -- the brain.
Helm -- TFs don't have hair, but they have stylish head-helmets.
Recharge berth, recharge slab -- a TF bed, or place to lie down safely while recharging batteries.
CR chamber -- a cheap plot device that allows characters in canon to get repaired fairly quickly so that the story can go on.
Self-repair -- healing.
HUD -- Heads Up Display. Some TFs have it, some don't. Up to you!
This list will expand with more suggestions, thanks!
Swear Words, Harsh Language, Transformer Insults
In addition to glossary, it doesn't make much sense for a TF to use human swearwords or insults. I mean, it sorta does, but it just kinda kills the levity of the thing when giant robots start throwing the F-bomb, unless ironically. Anyway, we encourage players to get creative with their insults, since we're playing giant robots after all.
Here are some samples:
Go chew on a microchip -- famously cited by Ironhide in the original G1 TV series.
Afthole -- asshole, duh.
Motherboard -- do robots have mothers? Often refers to an actual motherboard and not somebody's mother.
Frag, fragger, fraggit, fragging, fraggy, fragged -- fuck, fucker, fuckit, fucking, fucky, fucked. Also meaning to destroy or fragment something.
Scrap -- crap, to mean a useless piece.
Scrag, scragging, scragger -- generic adjective.
Slag, slagging, slaggy, slagged -- shit, shitting, shitty, got fucked.
boron compressor -- this one was invented by Starhorse a million years ago, to mean aft, or bum references, ie. 'my boron compressor!'
Glitch, son of a glitch, glitching, glitchy -- bitch, son of a bitch, bitching, bitchy. In a TF sense, to be considered an error, or the product of an error, is probably a heck of an insult, ie. 'you are a mistake, therefore flawed in essence and principle, and not supposed to exist'.
suck my exhaust pipe -- self-explanatory.
were you assembled backwards -- are you retarded or something
flicking the bird -- lemme cram this up someplace you don't like; sit and spin on this, asshole.
